Joyce passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Akron General Medical Center in Akron following a period of declining health. Her passing marks the loss of a beloved woman whose life was defined by devotion to family, hard work, kindness, and the meaningful relationships she built throughout her years.
Born on April 27, 1943, in Yellow Creek, West Virginia, Joyce was the daughter of the late James Carlos and Mary (Rogers) Wilson. From her earliest years, she carried the values of compassion, perseverance, and dedication that would guide her throughout her life. She was a woman who understood the importance of family, service, and being there for the people she loved.
Throughout her lifetime, Joyce dedicated herself wholeheartedly to both her family and her career. She was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for those closest to her, creating a loving and supportive home filled with warmth and memories. Her commitment to others extended into her professional life, where she worked in various roles, including serving as a secretary for the Medina County Career Center, Richardson Farms in Medina, Farmers Insurance in Middleburg Heights, and Western Reserve Insurance in Wooster. She also served as a postal carrier in Seville, earning the respect of those who knew her for her reliability and strong work ethic.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Joyce will be remembered most for the love she shared with her family and friends. She had a caring heart and a gentle spirit that made those around her feel valued and appreciated.
